THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX

When most vehicles are not being driven at full throttle fuel goes back from the engine to the fuel tank.  If the tank has been over filled it can leave fuel on the road.  Also some vehicles leak oil so keep this in mind, especially on sharp bends.

When coming out of junctions in town, opposite a plate glass window, you can use the reflection to see traffic that is outside your obvious zone of vision.

Glance underneath parked vehicles that you are approaching to see the feet of children or animals that could run out in front of you.  Remember the accident you must not let happen is for you to hit a child that runs out in between parked vehicles.

VISUAL MOTOR REHEARSAL

This an appropriately named technique.  I the amount of time you can spend driving is limited, imagine yourself driving and doing all the things that you do on a driving lesson successfully.  When I was learning how to drive I did this and it works very well.
